At the heart of the design is Florida Tech’s official motto, Ad Astra Per Scientiam — “To the Stars Through Science.” The phrase is woven into the inner collar, turning a hidden detail into a meaningful reminder of the university’s purpose every time the jersey hits the ice.
A custom circular mission patch placed on the shoulder mirrors the insignias worn on astronaut flight suits, reinforcing the connection between elite performance in sport and discovery in space. The inclusion of an American flag patch further grounds the concept in the history of U.S. space exploration rooted along Florida’s Space Coast.
Space-Inspired Details Meet Game-Ready Structure
Subtle star patterning throughout the jersey fabric creates depth without distracting from the primary Panthers crest, which remains the dominant focal point across the chest. A NASA-inspired number font delivers a clean, technical feel while honoring the year both Florida Tech and NASA were founded — 1958.
Balanced striping along the sleeves and hem keeps the silhouette traditional from a hockey standpoint, ensuring the concept feels authentic to the sport while still pushing visual storytelling forward.
